Heh, got me .

Anyways, the Pro I believe is a Winmodem, so this is gonna be tricky. Unless you're in Europe, the Pro is only gonna work with experimental drivers.
www.linmodems.org

If you are in Europe, disregard, and check your IRQ settings. By default the Supra ISA wants IRQ 5. I had the same problem with Red Hat wanting TTYS2 to be IRQ 4, change IRQ on modem and it worked like a champ.

Otherwise, you'll need to get some Rockwell drivers from that linmodems site and tinker for many days...

The modems manual doesn't really say anything about it being a Winmodem, as far as I can tell while I've been searching around Diamonds Supra models are not win modems. Thank for the help, I'll check it out now.

The Pro in the US models is a winmodem. Basically a Rockwell HCF. The Express models are full hardware with Rockwell chipsets, the USB model has a Lucent chipset, and the Pro I *believe* is the HCF chipset, but reboot can prolly confirm/deny that.

Err, duh.

I need more sleep. Sorry copyright. Guess if I woulda LOOKED I woulda seen you were in London.

Ok, problem is in full PnP mode the modem wants IRQ 5, com 3 (if it's the same as the U.S. Equivalent, which I'm assuming it is)

Jumper the modem to com 3 IRQ 4, and it should detect ok. I know Red Hat and Caldera make these IRQ assumptions about com ports. You could always use pnp tools to configure it and recompile your kernel for modules, but then again, it's easier just to jumper the modem.

There are no Linux drivers specifically for the Supra. If you're running a recent distribution of Red Hat, Corel, Caldera, Mandrake, etc. you shouldn't need drivers. As long as the modem is jumpered to the "assumed" IRQ it should work fine.
