My little brother did this, and it has embarrased me to heck, and my dad espousing why I should use Windows or Red Hat Linux.
This is the situation: I use KDE and I lock the screen. My little brother (who is 10) switches to the virtual console that I used to execute the X server, presses the print screen key, and voila, the X server terminates. Once he did that, and rebooted the computer. I use Slackware 7.0 with Linux kernel 2.2.16 and Xfree86 4.0. What is even more interesting is that this problem manifested on a Slackware 4.0 box with the same Linux kernel and Xfree86 3.3.3.1. There is probably something simple I'm missing in this, and my little brother is laughing in glee over this (since I refuse to give him access to my Linux box and has been wheedling me for my passwords), so I need help!!!! I forgot something:
Shortly after I posted the message, my little brother crashed the X Server again, this time by pressing a bunch of keys on the keyboard on the virtual terminal. The log claims that xinit terminated on signal 3. Cymbeline |
