Linux v.?
Hello,
I am a total newbie to Linux, and are considering installing Linux on my 2nd PC to learn the OS and how to maneuver around in it. What version should i get, and how much would it cost?

Linux is free for download if you have a connection that would allow about a 600MB x 2 download. In addition there are a variety of sources of getting discounted CDs of the web. If you need support with the product, you can order the operating system from the distribution.
However in your case, since you are entirely new at it, you would benifit from buying a book .. most books do come with the operating system CD with it. |

Yes, I did notice at Barns&Nobles there are Linux info. books with cd's in the back. So these cd's would be the entire OS?

I would go with Mandrake 8 or 8.1 as it is the simplest to install. It will hold your hand through the entire thing. Also, I would get a book on it so you can learn the command line.
