hey guys whats going on? Well i decided that i would like to learn and install Linux on my computer. I was wondering what version of Linux and what are the best books etc to get to learn Linux? I would also like to learn C++ programming and would like to know the best books to get for this. And as always thanks for all the wonderful help i always get from you guys.

I would install Redhat Linux or Mandrake. Personally, I think the Sams Teach yourself ... books are very good. You can find them online at Amazon or Barnes & Noble, or in almost any local bookstore. I think Best Buy may even carry them.

Hi Lehman, I think getting the "best book" (for anything) is a matter of opinion. But I agree with N8peterson, the Sams Teach yourself is a good choice. Once you get a good idea for tha language, try going to a book store and spend some time browsing books. You'll be sorprised how you'll be able to pick the one is right for you.
