restoring mbr
Hi.. My question is,i want to reformat my c:drive that had windows on it ,I have mandrake 8.2on a second drive but i put LILO bootloader on my c:drive . when i formatted c: when to reinstall windows me ,it wouldn't let me ,the bootloader is the problem I believe how can i get rid of LILO & restore it so windows will set up again???? Thanks for any help..

Hello freemon,
If you have a boot disk with FDISK on it, you can boot with that and at the c: prompt type, FDISK /MBR. This will restore your MBR so you can load windows. You will loose LILO though, but it sounds like you already know that. If you do not have a boot disk, go to www.bootdisk.com to get one. Hope that helps, freezinbutt |
