Slackware8 Help & Suggestions Plez
Hi,
Well I choice slackware8. Installed it successfully along with varoius GUIs just to explore months ago. Have not been able to setup an internet connection with it - using modem blaster flash 56II. Are there any slackware8 forums to access? I don't know how to use irc, gofer, or ftp to access news grps. So I set the whole project aside since i have a dual boot now with win98SE. I am afraid to change the jumpers on the modem so that its not plug and pray b/c then I may not be able to get it to work in win98 to access the internet at all. Plus I have msn isp whch I can not change until November? Any suggestions?

Jumpers reset to non-pnp
Changed jumpers to non-play com3 irq4 and now modem is working fine in Slackware Linux.
Confirming Creative Modem Blaster Flash 56 II is compatible with linux. Thanks Nortfromthemoon - I spend days and nights going through those sites. Instructions are just not always in english
