Linux 7.3 and network cards
Just installed Linux 7.3 server onto a laptop with the intention of learning how the File sharing features works. I am comming from a windows background and have some training in linux line commands. During the install I chose KDE interface.
The server is built, and now I need to configure the Nic card so I can attemp to access the server through another PC I have set up. However, my problem is that I cannot find where to do this. I used the linux site to assist me with the network config but so far have been unable to find any of the config menus shown in their examples. Anything I'm missing? Where can I look to add in my nic card? ~GreenBug |

Hi GreenBug, welcome to the PC Mech forums!
Which distribution of Linux did you use? Mandrake? Red Hat? |

My Bad - RedHat 7.3
Redid the install and this time I chose both KDE and GNOME interface - just to see. It looks like this works because I am now able to see the network config menues and have set up the nic. I am pinging computers on the network now. =) Still messing around with File sharing and features like that. The Gnome interface install seems to have made a huge difference. /shrug. Guess the Unix/Linux gods favor me today. |
