...why would a Unix administrator call Linux an inferior operating system?

I'd call the newer Linux' inferior and proceeding in that direction becos it is trying to cater to the mouse pushers and the Gooeys at the cost of raw performance, security and choice of administration... not to mention increased requirements by the OS itself .. hmm something similar to my take on Windoze.
The other side of the coin though is that Linux is a more progressive OS than UNIX .. cos of all the above reasons .. and not to mention rapid development, increased h/w support. In short if u want to serve out data .. nothing beats a Unix .. if u want to serve out data while maintaining a touch with the contemporary .. Linux .. If you want to play solitaire you need Windoze and a Microsoft Keyboard: ![]() Quote:
