Question puzzled penguin

Are there defragmenters for linux filesystems (particularly, ext2, ext3, and swap) Or do these filesystems not produce fragments.

There are programs to defrag linux but they are seldom needed. The os is too smart to need it. Kinda like it will use most all your mem up, then when you start a program, it will drop apps out of mem to make room (if needed) to run it. This way it responds faster, as the likely programs are already in mem.
