Changing root password in freebsd...

I installed FreeBSD a few hours ago and it froze before I got a chance to specify the root password. Right now I think the root password is just blank, but how do I change the root password? I am logged in as root, I just need to know the right command...I've tried 'passwd' and 'chpass' but I must not have used them right as it resulted in a blank line. Anyway, how do you change the root password when your logged in as root? Thanks.

I just rebooted the machine, and the 'passwd' command worked fine.

Problem fixed.
