bootable cd

Sorry if I put this in the wrong forum, this seemed like the most appropriate. I just bought a new laptop and to my dismay it didn't come with a floppy drive. I changed around the bios so it now supports bootable cd's, so what i need is a way to make a system disk on a cd so i can use fips to repartition my hd to dual boot linux. Does anybody know if this is possible? Any information is appreciated

If you've got an old Win9x CD sitting around, boot with it and press F8 and then bypass setup.
http://www.nu2.nu/bootcd/ is probably the most comprehensive resource out there.
http://www.google.ca/search?q=making...-8&hl=en&meta= has a ton of resources as well

make sure the laptop/components are supported.. beware .. Linux might not run too well, most laptops use rather proprietary components.
