Silly question but nessesary

Okay this one is gonna sound a lil strange,
I can install packages easily in the shell (blindfolded and one hand behind my back) now on my linux box, but if i want to uninstall them how do i go about it?

Like i said i no it sounds silly, and probably very obvious but i need to knnow :-)

If you are referring to rpm packages the command is: rpm -e "name".rpm

If you do not know all of the functions of a command you can always type: man "command"

This will bring up a text explaining the command.

No need for adding .rpm to the end of the package name, and remember, you need root privs to do so.

how do you configure it to do that? I always have to add the .rpm!

When adding .rpm I receive an error message:
error: package XXXX.rpm is not installed
