Hiding programs in freebsd...

I can't remember, but isn't there a command to hide programs called 'screen' or something? Please refresh my memory...

Thanks

If I got your point, no, you can't.

Do you mean that you are using telnet?
Could you please explain more what you mean by running irc in shell?

I have a freebsd box which is separate from the computer im using now. I use shell to run an irc client on the freebsd box, so what I want to do is sort of 'hide' the irc client so that when I close the shell window, it continues to run on the freebsd box.

Take a look at nohup command, and see if it is an option for you, in your OS
