Linux Activation! (OT)
Friend of mine is an avid (rabid?) Linux enthusiast. A friend of his asked him to set up Linux on an old box he has. So my bud goes over and installs it.
Plus a little proggie he wrote. Just to be mean. At random intervals, up pops a window with a gob of legalese boilerplate that says "this installation of Linux must be activated". When you click on the "OK" button, you get another window that just says "fine" (as in "well, fine then", not "the end"). I asked my bud why he did that. He said that his bud was really impressed and thought that mad Linux "more pirateproof". Has no clue it's a spoof! |

When is your friend going to let his bud in on the joke?

Seriously, crap like that does nothing to build up Linux in the public view. Please tell your "friend" to quit being so stupid .
