Running SETI on LINUX
Hi,
I just installed linux a day ago and would liek to get my seti back up and running, However I have absoultuly no idea. Can someone give me exact instruction of what to download and how to install. Thanks a lot. Mandrake 8.2 |

Ok I downloaed it but I hve absoultley no idea what to do with it. I was hoping for someone who has doen this and someone who could give me step by step info.
I download it and it is a .tar file i double click it and get 1. Readme( doesnt help me) 2. README.xsetiathome 3. setiathome 4. xsetiathome However the only file I can even open is the read me. Remember I am new to linux and have no idea what I am doing. Thanks for thr help. |

open up an xterm, gnome-terminal or some form of command line. Go to the directory and type:
$ tar xf Where filename is the name of the seti.tar, enter the directory it creates... if you check the site it might have exact information on how to configure, if not, there is probably a README file or INSTALL file in that new directory... enjoy. |
