Is there any version of Linux that will run on a Pentium 60 Mhz?

Given that you mean with the graphical user interface..., yes. However, for reasonable performace, you are looking at older versions. The boxes' spec for RedHat 6.2 is 16 meg ram, and 500 meg of hard drive space. Of course, the more ram and hd space, the better. Any version much newer than that, and the performance would be degraded. If you intend to use an older version like this on the internet, make sure to go to redhat's site, in the support section and get the needed security updates.

Okay thanks, I'm doing this to learn more about Linux and maybe make a Counter Strike server.

Linux will run happily on a classic pentium even on a 486 as long as you don't install any gui.
Check the system requirement for the Counter Strike Server as well, it might be resource intensive and may require a faster processor. If you are doing this for the fun of installing and using linux then I suggest building your own customized monolithic kernel which should run faster than the modularized one. |
