need help on 2 open ports i have!!
i need to know what to uninstall to get port 111 and port 6000 closed on my pc. im using nmap to scan me and i find these ports open. port 111 is sunrpc and port 6000 is x11. thanks

ok. i have managed to close off both of those ports. i uninstalled portmap and edited the script for x11. now i have a new dilema. i have port 177/UDP open. i cant seem to find anything telling me how to block it off. i edited the gdm.confg script to not allow it to listen but it still does. thanks for any help guys.
