Is this MS's idea of a joke?

I consult the xp manual (about 10 pages in length, telling you almost nothing) about multibooting, and it sent me
here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p.../multiboot.asp

What, are they idiots? I would commit suicide if I had more than one buggy OS on my hardrive

stupid microsoft

Send a message via AIM to TMAN
it's a legitamate tutorial for the unfortunate times we live in. Developers usually would want to test their software (only) on NT and 95 (c'mon, the *nix market isn't really there yet- this is a very realistic situation). Why install on two systems?

XP actually makes multi-booting very simple and it does come in handy.

I know...I'm just venting cause I use Windows 98 right now (1st edition), and it freezes up about every day.

Actually, most people who I've met that work at Microsoft are very intelligent. If you need help with a multiboot I'm sure many people, including myself, are more than willing to help. Like morriswindgate said, it's pretty straightforward.

My cousin actually worked for MS over the summer, so I'm asking him for tips. Thanks for the offer; I'll get back to you guys if I need more help.

if you want a guide to dual booting (besides using the mech) look here. just so you know, though, dual booting might not fix your freezing problem.

Oh, I'm making a new build with just XP and Linux, so I won't have that problem. Thanks for your concern though.

Thanks. I was going to install xp first, though, as I heard it likes to be on the front end of the HD. Plus, doesn't it (XP) erase your MBR? I just got SuSE 8.1 and my comp is almost complete.
Thanks
p.s.
Where do you want that guy we knocked off moved to?
