then it stops.
I have a cd burner, but i think redhat installer can install from iso images.redhat.com has also of great documentation but too much for my dumb brain. so,help!

Hi,

It sort of sounds like you just copied the iso image directly to the cd. That won't work as an iso image is a "zipped" file of sorts. You need to use the cd burner program to unzip the iso image to the cd. This site has a good how to on burning cds. Also, make sure that you check the md5 sums before you do any burning. That checks to make sure the file is not corrupted during the download.

There's no need for bootdisk really to install the OS (might be good to have anyway though for the future), the cd's are bootable as far as I know. HTH

Don't sound good. I think the installer is going to look for a CD File system, not a fat 32 for the install medium. Do you have any friends that do have a burner that you can transfer the files to via a high speed network?

I have actually upgraded RedHat by downloading the ISO's and then running the install after booting off a bootdisk and telling the setup where the ISO's where at. I'm not sure if this works though when they are on a FAT32 partition. HTH
