Network adapter.
I've got (or had) Mandrake Linux 9.0 running on the old system in my sig. The install went smoothly, and everything seemed to work. But the first time I rebooted during the checklist thing it comes to "eth0" which I guess is my network adapter. It then just stops. Any ideas?
One other question, is there any other distro of linux you would recommend instead of Mandrake 9.0 that would run a bit faster while still keeping ease of use. I think Mandrake 9.0 runs a little to sloppy. Last edited by smokealotapotimus; 12-22-2002 at 01:04 PM. |

Hi,
Yep, eth0 refers to your network card. When it stops it might be trying to obtain an IP address from somewhere. Are you on a network? If you are doublecheck your settings. If you're not, try assigning just an internal IP (192.168.0.x for instance), that might speed up the boot process. HTH |
