modem

Hey,

When I boot in Red Hat 8.0, it can't detect my modem. I've got a Conexant something or other PCI modem. Any help would be appreciated!

can you give us a model number? There is a very small chance that that modem will work in linux... Conexant makes winmodems- processorless pieces of junk that rely on the driver to do all the real work... but with a model number we'll be able to tell you more.

If that does not work, a external usr on a comm port will certainly get you going, and with less cpu usage.
