How much? Windows 2000 mostly for everyday, Mandrake for everyday once I learn how to use it properly
Everyday = Using it every day for listening to music, installing software, playing games, word processing, learning to program eventually... Windows 98 occasionaly for playing some really old games Thanks Jim |

Drive A = 80GB
Drive B = 20GB Drive A: win 98 first (FAT 32) - 5GB win2k next (NTFS) - 30GB Mandrake - 15GB: swap - 1GB / [root (ext3)] - 1.25GB /usr (ext3) - 9GB /home (ext3)- 3.75GB Free Space 30GB ~ You could devote this to 2k or to Mandy or both... but I would make a partition for transferring files between OS'es here... maybe a 5GB partition. That leaves you with 25GB.... well I left this here because most people I know who try linux want to try it again in another form. This is breathing room but you could devote to something else. I like to keep my apps and files separate so I might make a 5 or 10 GB partition for that but then you do have that 20Giger. +++++++++++++++++++++ Drive B (FAT32) ~ use for "stuff" hope that helps p.s. What are the specs for those puppies? if they're just about the same except for size well then nothing I said changes but.... |

Nice idea.
Erm, the 80GB would be top specs (7200RPM etc) with the 20GB WD Caviar being quite old 5200RPM etc Thanks Jim |

ok. then nothing changes. If you do decide to put another linux on there remember you only need one swap partition and you may be able to recycle your root partition or even usr and home... but thats story.
