Linux compatability for wireless hardware?
Does anyone know of a site that would list Linux Compatability by manufacturer, and Model numbers for wireless access points etc.?
I've heard of several cases where hardware was bought saying it could be used on Linux then no drivers were available. Thanks! |

There used to be a Linux Hardware database at lhd.zdnet.com, but that one seems to have dropped off the face of the Earth. Each distro has, to some extent, their own list, which may be useful -- or not.
You can do a search at www.google.com/linux for the term "linux hardware database". It returns a lot of links that may prove useful. If you have a specific manufacturer in mind, you might go to their site and check into their Linux support. |

There is also a link at sourceforge with supported cards and the associated driver module name.
