How I spent my evening

Sick of all the political coverage on the net as well as the Tube, I decided to load up Linux this evening. The Redhat 7 type. I had more trouble getting the partitions set up so that I could boot to windows or Linux than I did installing the OS. I did manage to get it to work with the cable modem hook up and surf the net with it a tad, but now on to more interesting stuff. I think I will tackle the sound card first, then get my cd-rom and burner to work properly. Should I be able to get my USB scanner to work also or is that a waste of time? I know you are looking forward to my frustrating posts.
