Hi,
Is this the first reboot after install? Are you dual booting with XP or Win2000 and is the drive formated for NTFS? If this is a download copy, it could be possible you may have an ISO that is just borked enough to cause this. Run the md5sum for each disc to be sure that all is good there. It could also be some hardware going south. No funky hardware or configurations? Or even maybe LiLo dosen't like you . Perhaps try GRUB instead (it should be installed also by default and works just as well). If this is happening at the end of the install, before your first successful boot, I would try to re-install Mandy again. Since you don't really have a good bootloader to try and fix. If you are dual booting, try and use XP/2000 bootloader, especially if runnung NTFS. Many people report better luck with that. HTH, OOPS!

yes on the 1st boot after the install, im trying to dual boot with win 98 2nd edition, i set up the partition with the win 98 boot disk, markoman had suggested to me to let, yinux make the partition, instead of window's. currently i'm trying to erase the hard drive and try it again, wish me luck c-ya sling
