Linux
2 questions
1. I am very interested in putting Linux into a pc I am building (the price is right) and I wanted to know about the compatability of it with games. Will my fav games run on it or do I have to pay $200 for windows to play Starcraft, Diablo and Rollercoaster Tycoon? 2. I am wondering about the interface. KDE has screenshots but GNOME doesn't. How does GNOME look. |

1. Most games don't have Linux support, there are a few exceptions like UT2K3.
There is a great piece of software called WineX ( www.transgaming.com ) it'll let you run Windows games under Linux, I managed to get HL, Unreal, Warcraft III, Starcraft and several other games to work, check out the website for a full list of working games. 2) http://gnome.org/start/2.2/notes/ Notice that both KDE and GNOME are very customizable, so you may install both and decide which one to use. |

If you are a game player, stay away from Linux. Windows does it much better.

True, but it's not Linux fault, it's because game developers create games for Windows only.

Write your favorite game manufacturer and demand Linux versions of games. If they produce a version for the Mac X OS producing a Linux version is easy.
