Installing Xine
Wassup....
When I cd to the right directory, the run './configure', I get the following... [root@localhost Andrew]# cd '/home/Andrew/xine-lib-1-beta8' [root@localhost xine-lib-1-beta8]# ./configure checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for gawk... gawk checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes checking for style of include used by make... GNU checking for gcc... no checking for cc... no checking for cc... no checking for cl... no configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH See `config.log' for more details. What is wrong, and what do I do to fix it! :P Thanks!

Hi,
What appears to be the problem is you don't have a c compiler installed. You need to have gcc installed. Check your install disks for it. It should be included with them. You don't say what your distro is, but if it is Mandrake, they are noted for leaving things like out if you don't do an expert install. HTH, OOPS! |
