I use mac all the time (Mac OS 9.1)
Mac OS is a very easy system to learn, and it really doesnt take long to learn just about everything about it, unless you can alter it's programing. How would I describe a Mac?

The BEST, and yet most proprietary computer that you can get. If your into music, like as in using a recording studio (professionaly) I really could not think of any reason you would use anything other then a Mac, most all the top recording engineers in the music business use them, I've been 'behind the sceans' for a few of the really big rock bands like Metalica, and thats what they use, (not so much the band but the recording engineer(s)

some things about them are good, way better then a PC, then again of coarse other things are not, and it really sucks compared to a PC. video editing type things is pretty much the same too (I'm probably going to get some people that will want to argue with me on this one) as there monitor for viewing DVD's is (in my opinion) the best thats out there right now. Also this whole thing about lack of software is not a real big deal, quicktime, i-tunes, finalcut pro, pro tools, photoshop, dreamweaver, acrobat reader, word, excel, access, powerpoint, IE, netscape, mozilla, that's some of the best software that money can buy, I dont see any reason why anyone would not want the software above for what they were made to do, aside from money I guess.
what most everyone thinks about PC's (mac owners) is incorrect
and what most everyone thinks about Mac's (PC owners) is also incorrect.

to say one is better then the other is just plain wrong, it just depends on what your going to use it for.

If your thing is music and or graphic arts, get a Mac
If your going to be using a big database for a business, get a PC

My wife uses her power mac, and hates windows.
My first computer was also a mac, but I use a PC. I dont think that I like one over the other, but taking into accound my money situation, not only my current computer, but also probably my next one will be a PC, not just because of the cost to build, but keeping up with what's new for PC's makes me money too, keeping up with whats new for a mac just makes me want to spend money.

I have a mac computer but i dont ever use the irritating mac OS... i load linux onto any mac machine i encounter... keep in mind that a mac user doesn't necissarily have the mac OS just like a PC user doesn't necissarily have to run windows.
