Hello Teamgta,
Mandrake installation should let you format the current partition and remove it, and then in Windows. You can format your windows partition, partition, and use 100% of that space. |

You can’t see the drive that Linux was on?
If that is the case you have to delete the Linux partitions because windows can not see Linux partitions nor can ms-dos see Linux partitions. |

My advice to you would be to use fdisk… I think it will show the partition there….. If that doesn’t work you might want to download zero fill from your hard drives manufacturers’ website… most have options to delete partitions… and then format the partition(s)…
Sorry for contradicting myself with the above statement about msdos...

Doobie,
FDISK will see it as NON MS-DOS partition like it does with WIN2K/WINXP. You first need to format the partition and then you can get rid of it in FDISK. But The Linux setup will allow you to delete the partition, and format it. You can also use a Zero Fill utility to format the drive, and then use FDISK to remove the NON DOS partition. If a program allows you to format/partition, then it certintly will allow you to format the partition and remove it. |

Windoze cannot natively "see" any Linux native filesystem. If you need to convert your former Linux disk to something that Windoze can use, then the best thing to do is use the Linux version of fdisk to wipe the Linux partitions. Windoze can handle unpartitioned space, just not Linux native partitions
