i would like to know what is different from the free download of this and the retail version. Thanks.

Hi,
From what I understand, the download version is crippleware. It is mostly a demo to give you the basic feel of the distro. In some quaters, that is looked down upon in the open source/GNU world. That said, SuSe is a good distro. It has some fine tools like YAST to simplify admin work. I think it is the number one or two distro in Europe. HTH OOPS!
