Linux verson

Which one should I download? http://linuxiso.org/distro.php?distro=29

9.1 RC3, or just 9.1. It'll go on the comp in my sig.

What does RC3 and i586 mean, anyway?

RC = Release Candidate
Get 9.1, it's the final 9.1 version.

Okay, what exactly is a "release candidate"? Is it like a beta or something?

oops, I missed this part
i586 means that a program is designed for Intel Pentium processers, and compatible ones, like AMD CPUs.

Linux supports lots of architectures, check out kernel.org for all supported architectures.
As for CPUs used in true Linux workstations, I guess Intel and AMD CPUs are the most popular ones.
