Getting an error message on boot
When I boot into Gnome I get this popping up.
Could not look up internet address for dhcppc2. This will prevent GNOME from operating correctly. It may be possible to correct the problem by adding dhcppc2 to the file /etc/hosts. Now I added this into the file it told me and still recieve the message or maybe I didn't add the line right any help would be appreciated. tia |

First of all, why is it looking for dhcppc2? What your computer is doing now is it is trying to look for the computer named 'dhcppc2' but can't find it. During some configuration process some time ago, you probably have told the computer to look for a system called 'dhcppc2' for some reason I don't know why.
UNLESS, the computer that you are actually on is the one called dhcppc2. In that case, add this line to /etc/hosts: 127.0.0.1 dhcppc2 |
