bsd

anybody here know anything about bsd os? I was told i needed to run it on me ol' 486 since it would be faster, but i don't have a clue about how it runs or anything.

You should install linux on that pc IMHO. bsd is not the best os to get your feet wet.

FreeBSD does take some computer savy, but in the long run, I think it is better than Linux. It will run well on your 486, just go easy on the GUI
