it there a safe mode in mac pc.

I don't think so. But if you hold down the apple key, this will prevent extensions from loading.
I can't believe I still remember stuff like that after all this time. |

I don't think so. You can do what Iman suggested, or rebuild the desktop.

no i just wanted my mac to load up faster. goof around and try to stop mac from loading the thing that i dont need.

holding the shift key causes none of the extensions to load. This is what you want it is kind of a "safe-mode" but you will not have TCP/IP or any other extensions. You know that extension manager in the control panel has everything that runs on your computer and all the files that boot when your computer does right?
