Setting write permissing on a ntfs Partition
Hi,
I have it set up to access my ntfs partition from linux but I only can mount the partition under read only. Is there a way to also be able to write to this partition also. Any help would be appreciated |

Write support in Linux for NTFS partitions is experimental -- if it works, great, if it doesn't, your NTFS partition is toast. Until M$ releases the specs for NTFS (that'll never happen
), the best thing to do -- if you need to write files in both Windoze and Linux -- is to create a FAT32 partition where you can place various shared data files (i.e., MP3, videos, docs, etc.).

AFAIK WinXP will work on either NTFS or FAT32. However, you'll be better off, in my opinion with NTFS because of the journaling. Looks like you will need an additional FAT32 partition.
