Question RedHat & Mandrake

What makes RedHat more preferred for servers over Mandrake?

I think its just redhat has been around longer, more popular and designed to do that sort of job. If you want to change to redhat ist simple i just did it on my dual boot system. downloaded Rh9 on to cd booted and it put itself where mandrake was. Did get a scare though on booting it gave me the choice to choose Rh9 or DOS fortunately DOS was my windows partition.

Yeah, RH gets better press for servers. That is what they primarly want to do. So thay focus on that and promote it. Mandy went for the desktop but it still will do everything a RH server install will do. People just don't think about it that way.

OOPS!

Plus, you have to consider that Redhat probably makes most of their money that way, with support and all that.

Edit: Randrake...LOL...fixed it.

Okay, so if Mandrake has everything RH has, then why is it that RH8 as 5 CDs, while Mandrake only has 3?

the last 2 CDs of RH are SRPM CDs, they contain source code, not programs.

I was always under the impression that Mandrake was a direct spin-off of Red Hat
