WindowsXP and Samba

I am getting ready to install Windows XP home a new machine for my wife. It will share the home network with my Linux machine. I use Samba to back up my machines to the Linux box and to share a printer hanging off the Linux box. Anything funky about WindowsXP and Samba I should know about? I only ask because my experience is with mapping linux shares on windows 9x machines.

I can't really speak to the XP Home edition....I have played with it (networking) and it does seem to do things a wee bit different than XP Pro. However, XP Pro handles networking very easy. I haven't had any issues with using XP and Samba on my network (don't mean they aren't there!)

My only issue with samba so far is authentication when trying to print to a 2000 server. Not authentication on the server but auth within samba itself. Wierd I know, But it wont accept my admin pasword. The format is use is such:

smb://username: password@workgroup/host/printername

trouble is the UN/PW arent accepted.

edit:
had to insert a space for this example between : & password; gave me a wierd smiley, So ignore the space, it isnt there in the string i use.
