80g is recognized as 70g
My setup is OSs (RH9 and Windows98) on one hard drive and the rest of my stored files is on the 2nd.
The 2nd is the 80g hdd. I formatted the drive as ext2 on Partition Magic under Windows98 but it's only recognized as 70g. I know that the 80g isn't really 80 but around 78gb. But still, that's a whole lot of wasted space. The 80g hdd isn't partitioned and is only recognized by RH as hdb1. Before I relocate my cds on that 80gb hdd, I have to make sure with you guys if there's a way to recover the missing gigs. |

I'm not knocking Partition Magic, I'm sure it's a very good product, but it's simply not needed for setting up Linux partitions. I would strongly recommend eliminating the partition on the second hard drive and then let RedHat partition and format the drive. There's always some overhead associated with setting up a hard drive, but 10GB is excessive.
