I have two 20gb hard drives and I want to have one for windows 98 and one for Mandrake Linux 9.1. I already have windows on one hard drive.
The second hard drive is new, so it hasn't been formated or partitioned. I've never had to format a hard drive before so how do I do it? And when I install linux how do I choose which hard drive I want to install it to? Last edited by Blue_matrix2k2; 07-12-2003 at 11:17 AM. |

The Mandrake installer will allow you to pick the location for placing Mandrake. Follow very closely what the installer asks and what it is telling you. When you get to the point where it wants to select a location, you will be given an option to do an "Expert" selection, then point the installer to your second hard drive (hdb). The installer will help you set up the partitions you need and format them.

Yep, I installed Mandrake 9.1 today. It was pretty easy once I got the computer to boot from the cd. It was being cranky.
