file change
have a file in Word.It comes up encoded..Would like to change it to text I can read.New user I need help Thanks

See http://freshmeat.net/projects/wv/?topic_id=849 for a piece of software named "wv". It may be what you need. Of course OpenOffice.org and abiword should be able to handle most Word docs except the most complex.
