About the open source's programs names
I have three months investigating and downloading programs for linux and I have seen one thing, the names are nothing serius, for example there is a video files player called "Banana" a very important app for sharing files and printer with ms windows pcs called "SAMBA" we have Wine and the web page presents a very drunk penguin, we have Mandrake, and so on, I know these are very good programs, I have test them myself, but what about someone browsing the web looking for a program, considering to use linux and the results are programs with names like mono, monkey or something like that.
I guess the open source should consider their names, I am sure that a lot of people will think it twice before installing programs with exotic names like these, even if they are as good as I know they are. |

Well when you search for a program you do not normally type the name of the program but a description... and if you typing the name of the program then its a sure bet you know what the program is for....
Look at Microsoft Windows... its not called Microsoft Operating System... |

That is correct, if you are looking for a DVDplayer program you tape "DVD player for linux" and a list of all posibles programs will be displayed where you have to select one.
