Linux giving Microsoft fits in India

I just read a report on Yahoo that suggests Linux is making a real splash in India. Ok guys, what do we know about India. That's right it is the home of the second largest group of software coders in the world. Microsoft might want to take this development really serious.

Judging from the four day visit from billie boy referenced in the article, I think they are. Governments around the world are starting to wake up to the problems posed by propietary software and closed formats. I guess they don't want there sensitve government docs running on an OS that phones home to redmund. It's also hard to counter the argument that citizens shouldn't have to buy proprietary software to communicate with their government. A huge population base in India and China running linux is microsoft's worst nightmare.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving company.
SCO's case against Linux is about to blow up in it's face as well (M$ gave them 10 million for a Linux license'?' )http://radio.weblogs.com/0120124/

From Computer Hobbyist's article, "Microsoft faces more than 30 patent-infringement lawsuits, covering digital rights management, online video game software and other technologies."

Makes you wonder how much of the price of a windows OS should have gone to somebody other than MS. Someone should make a pie chart
