current ip address
How do I do to find out wich ip address is using a red hat linux 9 workstation in a windows network?

You can either do 'ifconfig' on the local redhat box and it will show you the IP of eth0. Or you can ping the hostname of the redhat box on the network, should show IP as well.

I did ipconf and ipconfig /all in the console and it output an error, I will try ping the hostname.

For Linux is 'ifconfig'

ifconfig must be run with root pivileges:
In a console: su - (Enter your root password) ifconfig After reading the response, enter: exit |
