XP to Red Hat Telnen

I have 2 systems. 1 with xp the othe other with a new install of RedHat. I need to telnet from XP to RedHat for school labs. How do I set this up in RedHat. I tried but get the error "could not telnet to host, on port 23". Is there some type of remote access service I need to start on my Red Hat machine? My network connection fine. I am new to Unix.....thanks in adavance

Instead of telnet, you SHOULD use ssh, the secure shell =) . You need the ssh server (OpenSSH) and some time to configure it.
