I am trying to install turbo linux 6.0 - Pentium200 24mb ram -
I tried to install through DOS but the "autoboot" command would not work at all ( is this supposed to be in the dosutils DIR?) I then booted up with the supplied floppy disks and got to this error message: "fatal error cannot execute second stage" "installer problem code INST2NOEXEC" Help mike |

You've probably already checked this, but it sounds like you could possibly be booting with the wrong disk, possibly a rescue disk that is expecting linux to already be installed??
Just a thought. |

Thanks for the reply but the second stage is part way through the installation process. Could it be a case of running out of RAM which is bringing the installation to a halt? 24 mbs is supposed to be enough.
cheers Mike. |

are u running anything on your DOS mode .. like an extended memory manager or something of that nature?
Why not make urself a bootdisk with rawrite! and if it still hangs try a text mode setup .. it could be a GUI bug. |

I think the problem is with the cd i get error messages when trying to access it and it has caused my P.C to freeze
a couple of times. Or maybe my cd drive is on the way out (although it seems to work o.k with other cd's) Mike |
