Xp To Redhat

I am gioing to switch to redhat how should i do it i know there is an artical on it but i need opinoins and tips ect ect

I was lookin through my room i found this a cd i got with my router (linksys) it is TURBO LINUX SEVER 6.0 LITE iis that any thing like redhat cuz i wana get used to how to do stuff could i install that and then remove it when i get redhat?

I have never used it or heard of it...

Well installing Linux is very simple. I have never understood why people are a little scared about installing linux. I would just make a back up of all your stuff before you begin installing...

I guess I have no real tips... Just read the instructions and your set...

I believe the cd u have is to set up a server in linux not an actual linux system. installing linux is the same as installing windows. YOu may have a probblem unless u have already partitioned the hard drive. Then u will install over xp. If u havent partitoined the hard drive i would recomend doing that or getting a second hard drive. Im not sure it possible to do it without lossing all ur data

And don't forget to defragment before you partition the disk. Some files might be scattered on the disk, and when a new partition is created , they get deleted.
