help

Does anyone know where I can get a driver for the onboard ethernet to work with red hat 8.0? I have an Epox motherboard 8RDA+ with nForce chipset, the onboard ethernet is listed as Realtek RTL8201 PHY

Ahh yes .. the road to the nforce and sis chipsets are paved with users tripping on linux drivers
Have you tried nvidia's nforce drivers? They claim to provide networking http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_nforce_1.0-0261

Probably be easier to stick another NIC in there. Pretty cheap too.

Sure will. Linux supports FAT (FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32) natively.

Well, being the linux noob that I am, after seeing all what it takes to actually install the driver (way more then double clicking an icon and hitting the next button) along with the fact that it still may not work. I put in the NIC card that sbcyahoo sent me when I got dsl, after putting that in my machine and booting up to linux it found the card, booted up, I added a new network connection for dsl and worked great. u guys like to use gnome, KDE, or just the command line???

To each his own on that. If you want to run a server, then you don't need the GUI at all. As a matter of fact, it gets in the way and adds some security issues to boot. If you are going to run Linux as a Desktop replacement, then sure use Gnome or KDE. You should still learn some of the basic stuff in Linux like the commands, paths, etc. Somethings (most things IMO) are more easily done in the shell.
