I tried Corel 1, but it scared me. Mandrake is the most friedly so far. But has Corel 2 improved enough yet? I'm looking for a faster, more crash-proof version of Windows M.E.

You will not find any flavor of Linux to be a crash-proof version of ME. Linux is still lacking compatibilty in running Windows apps. So you will have the crashproof part with Linux but not the ME part.
I would stay away from Corel. Corel is also dropping Linux. I have been running Mandrake for about a year. It's a fine desktop OS. The set-up, unless you have some imcompatible hardware, is fairly easy. You might also consider waiting about a month until the new kernel 2.4 comes out. |
