Linux for gaming?

I'm interested in trying Linux but wondering if it's works with the "Windows based" games out there. (Diablo, Warcraft, SW Galaxies, etc.) If it does, which Linux should I use?

Or you could go with a dual boot. Learn Linux and for all those games that haven't quite caught up with Linux just load it Windows. I was thinking about doing a dual boot just to learn linux, it seems as though it would be fun...

Dual boot was actually what I was thinking of doing too. I need to reformat anyway and Linux does sound like something that would be fun to learn considering I used to love DOS back in the day.
