Hey, decided it was time i took the leap to a linux os. Bought my self a copy of Redhat 9 and a new hard drive. Setup went fine (i think), got the computer working on a multi-boot with xp pro. So here i am, its installed. However u have not a clue what to do when i comes to drivers etc... i get no sound, i assume it doesnt recognise my sound card (Audigy 2), and the display is nasty but works. i have a 9800 pro and its not on the list of graphics cards already supported. So basicly, graphics needs setting up - i dont have a clue, and sound needs setting up - i dont have a clue either!
Much help is needed. Definitely starts by searching Linux forums like LinuxQuestions or JustLinux. Many questions new Linux users have are answered there.

Your graphics card will need the ati linux driver to achieve optimal performance. The audigy card will probably need some tweaking as well. Try posting/searching on the above forums and try these as well:

I currently have the same issue with my 9600 ATI. From what i've searched ATI doesn't have a very good repore with linux user's. Nvidia seems to be a better supported brand. Which is all the more reason, i'm seeing, to build another nice machine strictly for linux. Using a KV switch, instead of dual booting.
